CLAT or Common Law Admission Test is a centralized national level entrance examination for admission into the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs in the prestigious NLUs. There are 22 National Law Universities in India participating in CLAT. Along with them, most of the self-financed law schools in India also consider these test scores for granting admissions. The Consortium of NLUs conducts CLAT every year. CLAT is one of the most popular competitive examinations in the country and sees an attendance of lakhs of aspirants every year. The Consortium will conduct CLAT on 19 June 2022 between 02:00 pm. – 04:00 pm. The test will be two hours long and will consist of five sections, i.e. English Language, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Techniques and Legal Reasoning. The total number of questions in the exam will be 150 questions, and each question carries 1 mark. On answering each question correctly, the candidates will get 1 mark, and on answering each question incorrectly, 0.25 mark will be deducted from the candidates’ score. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate must focus on their answers rather than doing guesswork. Also, there are many tips and strategies to prepare for CLAT Exam, which will help you succeed.

 

Due to negative marking, answering only those questions that one is confident about becomes important, and there should be no guesswork. For building their confidence in solving questions, candidates should properly understand the sectional break-up of the CLAT examination, which will allow them properly gauge the number of questions being asked in a particular section, marks allotted to a particular section, type of questions asked in each section, and work on building their strengths and improving their weak topics accordingly. Verbal Ability

This section is going to be a mixed bag of Reading comprehension and grammar questions, with difficulty ranging from anywhere from easy to moderate. Reading comprehension will be passaged based questions, whereas grammar questions will feature questions on idioms, vocabulary and phrases. 

General Knowledge 

Candidates can expect static GK, as well as Current affairs questions from various news articles, editorials, et cetera. 

Logical Reasoning

Candidates can expect questions relating to syllogisms, inferences, premises and conclusions and other puzzle-based questions which will test their logical ability.

Quantitative Aptitude

Questions related to volume and surface area, average, percentages, ratio and proportion, statistics, data interpretation, etc can be expected in this section. The motive of this particular section is to test the candidates’ familiarity with numbers. In addtion, prepare hard for this section.

Legal Reasoning

Candidates will be expected to answer questions on factual scenarios which involve legal matters and public policy. The questions will span from topics like legal maxims, Indian Constitution, contracts, legal terms, etc.

CLAT 2022 examination will consist of the above stated five sections, i.e. Verbal Ability(English Language), Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Techniques, Legal Reasoning, General Knowledge and the overall difficulty of the test will be anywhere between Easy to Moderate.

How to check CLAT 2022 Results:

The CLAT result will be declared in late July 2022. Once declared, the results will be available on the official website of the consortium – consortiumofnlus.ac.in. After filling in the required information, (Roll no., D.O.B.), candidates will be able to access their scorecards. After that, you can also check your CLAT Analysis.

The scorecards will contain all the relevant information such as the candidate’s name, roll number, marks secured in each subject, total marks, percentage marks secured and the final result status.

Steps to check CLAT 2022 results

Click on the official result link (updated once results are declared)
Fill in the requested details in the pop-up window
On correctly filling up the information, CLAT 2022 results will be displayed on the screen.
The CLAT scorecard will show details like the Name of the candidate, roll number, application number, CLAT score, All India Rank, Category Rank, NRI Rank, and other admission related details.
You can save the result in PDF format or print the result for future access.

Candidates will be able to check the Merit List along with the declaration of CLAT 2022 results. The merit list is only available to be viewed in the Online mode and the admission offers will be based on the Merit List. If a tie is observed between two or more candidates scoring the same marks in some cases, then tie-breaking criteria will be considered to break the tie. In conclusion, the Merit list is a gateway to NLUs and the best private law colleges.

Tie-breaking criteria follow the following steps:

  1. Higher marks in the Legal Reasoning sections of the CLAT examination
  2. After that, a higher age will be preferred. 
  3.  and Computerised Draw (if the tie persists)
